My Homie posted this for his facebook status " There's no such thing as male and female bestfriends..unless the chick is wack..cuz I know the male just wants to hit it!! I was never wit that friend zone shit!!!" and all the chicks went crazy on him. If you're in a long term relationship, what would you think?

One of my best friends is a female..

known her since the 5th grade. two summers ago outta no where we both developed feelings for each other. never thought we'd be going out as a bf & gf thing but we did. the breakup was a disaster though cuz we used each others secrets to get at each other in arguments. didnt speak to each other for about 5 months. the i had finally grown up and bit and apologized to her. yet again we still are best friends and i believe the ones who really matter stay in ur life even if u dont want them too. she was one of those people. never would i consider trying to go further than being a friend though now

My man and I dont have friends of the opposite sex....It cuts out the drama and the extra shit we dont need. Someone always has some shady shit on their mind. We have been like this pushin 8 years and we are both fine with it. Why would you want to go hang out with some dude when your mans at home or vise versa...That shit never made any sense to me.

That's a horrible way to live IMO....but if it works for you then that's great.

i have a few close female friends but they are usually older or younger...1 of my good friends now is a 18 yr old girl look at her as a little sister and i have one really close female friend whose like 30 something and she like my older sister

. both r attractive women but could never do anything with either of them.

I've got one girl who I would call a best friend and I could feel some tension with her bf sometimes, but I'd never let her cheat with me.

Though as luc said, I think it would mess things up if you're married.
